Turmeric & Ginger Shots
This small but mighty shot is perfect for inflammation and circulatory issues; it will also aid in liver detoxification, balance blood sugar, and give you a mental boost!
Turmeric:
The active compound is curcumin - pair it with black pepper to increase absorption by up to 2000%. Powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, helps digestion, supports joint health and reduces stiffness
Ginger:
Excellent for digestion and nausea, is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, supports circulation and cardiovascular health, reduces muscle soreness.
Lemon & Orange Juice:
High in vitamin C to boost the immune system. Supports liver detoxification and bile production, supports collagen, helps alkalize the body.
Recipe:
2 inches fresh turmeric root
2 inches fresh ginger root
1 lemon juiced
1 orange juiced
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of black pepper
1/4 cup water
Optional:
1 tablespoon raw honey (or to taste)
2 teaspoons beet powder
Dash of cayenne pepper
Peel the turmeric and ginger with a spoon then roughly chop and toss in a blender with the rest of the ingredients. blend until smooth.
if you wish - you can strain it with a cheesecloth but I skip this step since I don’t mind the extra fiber.
Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator. Take 1 shot in the morning or early afternoon
